The business of higher education is international in scope and universities’ international activities have expanded and diversified in recent decades. Tracking developments in the internationalisation of higher education systems and institutions is a strategic necessity in the light of global competition and the search for suitable international partnerships to build research capability and deliver high quality education.
My collaborative research and publications on internationalisation modes and trends have put me in touch with a wide international network of scholars and consultants (see resources). International connections have laid the foundations for the design and delivery of programmes for higher education leaders in a range of countries. With Dr Tom Kennie (Director of Ranmore Consulting), leadership programmes for global engagement have been delivered in Australia, Southern Africa, the Middle East, China, Malaysia and Europe (see links).
I work with colleagues to track internationalisation developments at national and institutional levels.
